Providing SIA-Licensed Security Officers For A Public March & Rally In Aberystwyth

Event Overview

Castell Security Ltd was engaged to provide SIA-Licensed Security Officers and communications support for a large public march and rally in Aberystwyth.

The event brought together participants from across Wales and included a family-friendly march through the town followed by a public rally featuring a number of guest speakers, including the First Minister of Wales.

Working alongside event organisers, an experienced stewarding team, Dyfed-Powys Police and medical providers, our role was to support the event’s safety arrangements while helping maintain a welcoming and positive atmosphere throughout the day.

Services Provided

Castell Security Ltd provided:

SIA-Licensed Security Officers
Event Security
Access Control Support
Radio Communications Support
Crowd Management
Public Safety Support
Incident Response Capability
Liaison With Event Organisers

Supporting An Established Event Team

The event benefited from a well-organised and experienced stewarding team who played a key role in the success of the day. Dyfed-Powys Police, medical providers and event organisers were also present throughout the march and rally, creating a strong multi-agency approach to public safety.

Our officers worked alongside stewards, organisers, police and medical personnel, helping to support communication, coordination and the smooth running of the event.

As the march concluded and the rally phase began, our team carried out a dynamic assessment of the event environment. The majority of operational areas were already well covered by stewards, police and other event personnel.

Following discussion between our officers and management, it was agreed that the stage and speaker area would benefit most from an additional visible security presence. Our officers were therefore redeployed to support that area during the rally, including throughout speeches delivered by invited guests and public figures.

This decision was not made in response to any incident or concern. Instead, it reflected a proactive and flexible approach to event security, ensuring resources were positioned where they could provide the greatest benefit while complementing the work already being undertaken by stewards, police and medical teams.

Communication & Coordination

Effective communication is a vital part of any public event.

To support the event operation, Castell Security Ltd supplied radio communications equipment, enabling key personnel to maintain contact throughout the march and rally.

This supported coordination between organisers, stewards and security personnel while providing an effective method of communicating emerging issues and operational updates throughout the day.

A Safe & Successful Event

The march and rally were completed safely and successfully, with a positive, welcoming and family-friendly atmosphere maintained throughout the event.

The day demonstrated the value of experienced stewarding teams, effective planning, strong communication and appropriately deployed SIA-Licensed Security Officers working together to support public safety.

The successful cooperation between organisers, stewards, Dyfed-Powys Police, medical providers and security personnel helped ensure the event ran smoothly while allowing participants and visitors to focus on enjoying and taking part in the day’s activities.
