Remembering and Reflecting on the Sacrifices of Our Loved Ones
Remembrance Day is a poignant time for many families across the United Kingdom and beyond. It’s a chance to pause, and pay tribute to those who have served and sacrificed for our freedom. For me and my family, this day carries a deeply personal significance. Both my husband and I come from families with proud histories of military service. My husband himself has 11 years’ service under his belt.
In keeping with this tradition of service and protection, I am proud that our company, Castell Security LTD is thriving. It is a company based in North Wales. It was founded on the same principles of military precision and dedication that have defined our family’s history. Castell Security LTD is committed to safeguarding people, drawing upon the expertise and values instilled by years of military experience. Our mission is simple yet vital, to ensure that people feel safe and secure. We make sure people are looked after, whether at work, at events, or in their everyday lives. This enduring commitment to safety and well-being extends from the generations devoted to service. A service that is instilled in both uniform and beyond.
A Family Tradition of Service
In both mine and my husband’s family trees, there are stories of courage, commitment, and sacrifice. Our grandparents, great-grandparents, and generations before them took up the call to defend our country in times of need. They served in the muddy trenches of the First World War. They also fought on the distant battlefields of the Second World War. Their bravery echoes through the stories passed down at family gatherings.
Growing up, I heard tales of relatives who served in the Army and Navy. Their experiences shaped our family’s values and gave us a deep appreciation for the freedoms we enjoy today. My husband’s family also has a long-standing tradition of military service. Family members have served in various branches and roles over the years. The information below is that of a combination of stories passed down to us and research within the National Archives.

My Husband’s Ongoing Commitment
It’s humbling to remember those who served in generations past. Remembrance Day is also about recognizing those who continue that legacy today. My husband has followed in the footsteps of his forebears. He dedicated many years of his life to serving in the armed forces. Although he is no longer in active service, he still possesses a profound sense of duty. His steadfast commitment to protecting our way of life remains a source of immense pride for me. I am continually reminded of the sacrifices made by those who serve. Their families also make sacrifices by offering unwavering support from home.
Why Remembrance Matters
For us, Remembrance Day is more than a single moment of silence. It’s a reminder to honour all who have served — those who came home and those who did not. It’s an opportunity to teach our children about the importance of resilience, bravery, and gratitude. We wear our poppies with pride. This is not just for our own loved ones. It is for all who have given so much.
Supporting Veterans and Their Families
As a security company, we are deeply aware of the skills and discipline veterans posses. They also have a strong sense of responsibility instilled in them, which they bring to civilian life. Many of our team members, have ties to the armed forces even if they have not served themselves. This Remembrance Day, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting veterans and their families. We help them transition and find new pathways. We ensure they continue making a difference in the world.
In Grateful Memory
To my husband, to our families, and to all who have worn the uniform, I offer my deepest thanks. Your courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten. Lest we forget.
